Hemorrhoid Tea & Tea Bags for Hemorrhoids

What are Hemorrhoids? [hemorrhoid tea]

Hemorrhoid tea: Hemorrhoids are uncomfortable growths that swell up and develop in the anal canal. Although they are often associated with pain, usually this problem is not regarded as being serious. The causes behind the development of these growths still remain unknown, however, it is believed that pressure that is put on the veins of the anal canal is considered the most common cause. Diarrhea, straining, and constipation are likely causes behind these pressures as well as being over-weight or pregnant. The symptoms that result from this condition are pain, itching, and sometimes bleeding during bowel movements.

Can Hemorrhoid Tea Treat Hemorrhoids?

Absolutely! There are many types of tea you can use, either by drinking, putting the tea bag on the external hemorrhoid, or both. In the case of internal hemorrhoids, just drinking the tea is the only option. The herbs in the hemorrhoid tea treat many of the hemorrhoid symptoms. Even Cayenne pepper works! Make the tea as normal and drink. When the tea bag has cooled a little, place it on the affected area for about 20 minutes. It needs to be hot, but don’t burn yourself! You can even follow-up with an ice pack for another 15-20 minutes. The combination of hot/cold will strengthen the veins. Hemorrhoid tea gives you two ways to treat hemorrhoids! Tea is a great way to treat hemorrhoids naturally and is more effective than over the counter medications.

Best Herbs  and Other Natural Ingredients to Make Hemorrhoid Tea

Here is a list of what to look for in your tea. These are the best ways to treat hemorrhoid pain and discomfort.

Horse Chestnut

Horse chestnut helps reduce blood vessel permeability and can be useful for both varicose veins and hemorrhoids, or piles. Piles is another name for hemorrhoids. Studies done in Europe found that horse-chestnut helped to increase blood flow, strengthen connective tissue, tighten up veins, and decrease redness and swelling. Great for making hemorrhoid tea!

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper can be useful for facilitating blood flow, as hemorrhoids are characteristic of sluggish blood flow in the area of the veins in and around the anus. On a side note, cayenne pepper will also help reduce the risk of a heart attack. Nobody thinks about this one, but it is essential in a hemorrhoid tea!

White Oak Bark

Swelling and throbbing can be reduced by the inclusion of the tonic herb, white oak bark; its bitter and astringent qualities have been valued for centuries and its ability to tighten tissues and strengthen blood vessels. Another great addition to hemorrhoid tea.

Witch Hazel

Witch hazel offers further restorative properties for the tissue lining and helps reduce bleeding. This plant has been used to treat hemorrhoids for centuries and is in most hemorrhoid treatments. Another great one for hemorrhoid tea, especially if you have bleeding hemorrhoids.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is known for its anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties which help to reduce the itching, inflammation and irritation of hemorrhoids. It is used to treat both internal and external hemorrhoids. I wouldn’t add this to a hemorrhoid tea, I just added it for its usefulness.

With its soothing and inflammation reducing actions, chamomile is a wonderful home remedy for treating bleeding hemorrhoids. Chamomile tea can be used for rinsing the area, especially after bowel movements when the wound and bleeding could be particularly severe. Chamomile tea bags too can be used as a poultice for pressing on the hemorrhoid so that the inflamed nerves are encouraged to shrink. Not essential for hemorrhoid tea but if you want to make some to clean the area, this is how you do it.

Where Can You Find the Right Hemorrhoid Tea?

There is a tea available with most of these ingredients included, plus many more. It’s a great remedy to treat hemorrhoids. You can find more information about this hemorrhoid tea bag by clicking the link. The tea comes in bags and as a loose leaf tea. I recommend getting the bags, as you can place them on your external hemorrhoids after you make the tea. Even if you have internal hemorrhoids, there is a chance they can eventually become external. Enjoy your hemorrhoid tea!

Among the most common mistakes people make is they eat too much of high-calorie and high-fat food, in other words “fast food”. Most of us love our pizzas and hamburgers, but when eaten in large quantities, they could cause constipation, which can very quickly lead to hemorrhoids. Stay away from processed foods on daily basis and reduce the consumption of these foods to possibly just once a week.

Yet another thing you could do to avoid getting hemorrhoids is move around more, reducing the time you spend sitting. While in the sitting position, there’s lots of pressure put on your anus area, which reduces blood flow and as a result could aggravate existing hemorrhoids. If you work in an office, try taking short breaks by walking a little more, thus helping to ease the pressure.

You’ll be shocked, but certain hemorrhoids medications, that are designed to actually cure the problem, can make matters worse. The reason behind that is the fact that they often contain artificial processed ingredients, that may cause unpleasant side-effects. Additionally, they seldom offer long-term results, because once you stop using them, the symptoms return. As a result, it’s essential to consult a doctor before using any hemorrhoid supplements.

So there you are, just follow these simple tips, which will greatly help you to prevent hemorrhoids, get hemorrhoid relief, and enjoy life again.

Natural Hemorrhoid Treatment During Pregnancy

Natural Hemorrhoid Treatment During Pregnancy

What Are Hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are pains in the butt that are very painful and bothersome. More specifically, hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins found around the rectum and anus. They are caused by forceful straining during defecation and leads to itching and burning sensations and, consequently bleeding. Due to the usual discomfort attached to this condition, those who suffer from hemorrhoids always seek a suitable and permanent treatment.

Pregnancy makes you more susceptible to hemorrhoids for several reasons. Your growing uterus puts pressure on the pelvic veins and the inferior vena cava, a large vein on the right side of the body that gets blood from the lower legs. This can slow down the return of blood from the lower half of your body, which increases the pressure on the veins below your uterus and leads to them to dilate or swell. Constipation is another common problem with pregnant women and can also lead to hemorrhoids or make them worse. The straining during constipation can lead to or aggravate hemorrhoids. Furthermore, your increased progesterone during pregnancy causes your veins to swell. Hemorrhoids during pregnancy usually go away soon after you give birth but may return again later.

Hemorrhoids are not only caused by straining during a bowel movement but can also be caused by obesity and childbirth. Individuals who live a sedentary lifestyle, eat unhealthy food, or suffer from constipation are liable to develop this condition. Due to the fact that hemorrhoids are uncomfortable, relief and improved comfort is the principal goal of most hemorrhoid treatments. There are several treatments that are available and range from simple to complex.

How to Treat Hemorrhoids

Below are some natural hemorrhoid treatments that have been proven to relieve the pains and discomfort of the condition. If you’re pregnant with hemorrhoids this list will help you. There are other treatments  for hemorrhoids further down on my blog.

Natural Remedies for Hemorrhoids During Pregnancy

      • Use a warm bath to ease the symptoms of hemorrhoids. You can as use a warm sitz bath to reduce the effects of the symptoms. To do this, you are required to sit in warm water in a tub for about 10 – 15 minutes. Please note that hot or boiling water is not advisable as it will cause further injuries to your body.
      • Essential oils are another useful substance. Blend 2 drops of lavender with one ounce of carrier oil (example: grape seed oil and sweet almond oil) and add a single drop of geranium essential oils. This mixture can be used after your sitz bath or after you have your bowel movements.
      • In case you are experiencing swelling hemorrhoids, you can apply an ice pack to reduce the swelling. This will force a contraction of the blood vessels and consequently relieve the swelling. Doing this after a sitz bath is the best time. The warm water followed by the cold ice strengthens the blood vessels, helping to reduce them and prevent them from coming back.
      • Another natural product that should be considered is aloe vera as it brings a soothing effect. Petroleum jelly can also be applied to the affected area. These are useful as they provide moisture to the cracked and dry areas.
      • Before a bowel movement, it is also encouraged to apply a lubricant initially to ensure that the muscles will not be injured which can increase the pains caused by hemorrhoids.
      • A very important treatment of hemorrhoids is to improve your daily diet. Your diet should consist of healthy, fiber rich foods as much as possible. Such as fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds as these products are rich in fiber. Lots of fiber can prevent constipation.
      • Introduce some apple cider vinegar (acv) to your diet.  A tablespoon of acv mixed with a cup of warm water will do the trick. This is especially good for internal hemorrhoids. This will help you in the digestion process and ensure adequate transit of your bowels.
      • Together with an increased fiber intake, you should increase your water intake to ensure that stools are softer. Softer stools will mean that straining will be reduced and decrease the risk of hemorrhoid development.
      • As much as possible, avoid sitting for a long period of time as it adds to the development of hemorrhoids. For those working in offices who are liable to sitting for a longer period of time, it is advisable to go for a few walk during breaks or periods with lesser work to ensure that good circulation is promoted and prevents the condition from occurring once again.
      • Be sure to clean the affected area gently but thoroughly with a soft wet wipe. Make sure it’s not scented and does not contain alcohol. Do not use toilet paper! It will aggravate the hemorrhoids. You can also buy wipes moistened with witch hazel, specifically for treating hemorrhoids.
      • Also, the use of donut pillow is another better way to control hemorrhoids. The pillow is designed in such a way that it enhances your comfort and as well helps to control the symptoms of hemorrhoids.

How to prevent hemorrhoids

According to the old saying “prevention is ultimately better than cure,” hemorrhoids can be prevented to a greater extent by regular exercise and eating a balanced diet. Also, try to avoid surgery as much as possible. When it comes to treatment, natural hemorrhoids treatments are very easy, inexpensive and effective.

To prevent hemorrhoids you should be eating a high fiber diet. Be sure to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Whole grains are high in fiber but also cause swelling and weight gain. Also you should drink plenty of water to help prevent constipation.

When you feel the need to have a bowel movement you should go right away, don’t wait. When you’re done you should get up as soon as possible. Don’t sit any longer than you need to. Sitting on the toilet puts pressure on your rectal area, which may lead to hemorrhoids. For more information on natural hemorrhoid treatments, click the link.

This works during and after!

Hemorrhoids can be painful, so it is best to get them treated or cured as soon as possible. The symptoms are easy to notice. Blood upon defecating and anal itching or irritation are the most common signs. Whether the growths are internal or external, there are practical home remedies to treat them. 2. Witch hazel After dipping a cotton ball into the witch hazel water, apply it to the affected area. If you do not experience relief after two days, try using suppositories instead.

  4. Ice packs Applying coldness to the affected area can decrease swelling and remedy the pain.
  5. Sitz baths Place the sitz bath over the toilet and ensure that it has warm water inside of it. Sit in it for 10–15 minutes, two to three times per day. A doctor can tell you if it is acceptable for you to add baking soda or salt to the sitz bath for extra relief. This piece of equipment is available at many drug stores.
  6. You can also get Venapro for a natural remedy that works great.

If your symptoms do not improve within a week, see a doctor. A doctor can prescribe the necessary suppositories, cream or ointment. Hydrocortisone, for example, decreases swelling. A qualified physician can clarify if it needs to be taken orally or topically. If the hemorrhoids have complications, such as blood clots or persistent bleeding, a doctor can also perform a minimally invasive procedure or, in extreme cases, surgery.

To avoid hemorrhoids in the future, the best approach is to modify your diet. Eating high-fiber food and drinking six to eight glasses of water per day will soften your stool, making easier bowel movements.

Top 5 Hemorrhoid Treatments

Before we get into the top 5 hemorrhoid treatments I’ll discuss what hemorrhoids are.

Hemorrhoids are inflamed veins found around the lower rectum or anus. External hemorrhoids  develop under the skin around the anus. Internal hemorrhoids are located in the lower rectum. Internal hemorrhoids can cause extreme discomfort because they often prolapse or protrude through the anus. A common symptom of internal hemorrhoids  is blood in the stool and is typically accompanied by pain, discomfort and itching in the anal area.

Hemorrhoids are uncomfortable but are not considered life threatening. It is estimated that at more than 60% of people will suffer from hemorrhoids at some time in their lives. There are millions of hemorrhoid sufferers who are seeking relief from the condition. The following are the top 5 hemorrhoid treatments:

Undergo a Hemorrhoidectomy

:A hemorrhoidectomy is a surgical procedure where the complete hemorrhoid is removed. This procedure is known to be a way to absolutely cure hemorrhoids but is considered a drastic action for relief. Although hemorrhoidectomies were a popular way of dealing with hemorrhoids in the past, it is invasive and requires recovery time. This should only be considered after trying everything else.

Here are the Top 5 Hemorrhoid Treatments

Injection Sclerotherapy

:Sclerotherapy is an old procedure that is also used to treat spider and varicose veins. This is a very basic treatment and is virtually painless. A fine needle is used to inject a solution into the vein. This causes the vein to dry up and disappear. The following hemorrhoid treatments should be tried first.

Aloe Vera Gel

:Aloe Vera gel is considered one of the most effective home treatments for hemorrhoids. The aloe is applied topically to the hemorrhoid and pain is reduced almost immediately. Aloe Vera has anti-inflammatory properties and can also be ingested to assist in the relief of constipation; which often contributes to hemorrhoid suffering.

Witch Hazel:

Witch Hazel is effective in alleviating itching caused by hemorrhoids. Witch Hazel is commonly applied with a cotton ball but there are also witch hazel sprays that are easy to use. The sprays often contain proanthocyanidins which are believed to strengthen the vein walls.

Venapro is a natural over-the-counter medication, with anti-inflammatory properties, that was designed to work in conjunction with the natural healing mechanisms of the body. Venapro is effective for internal and external hemorrhoids. Learn more about Venapro here.

My Thoughts About Hemorrhoid Creams & Ointments

According to my own experience, there are two drawbacks to using these creams. The creams work as a spot reducer instead of attacking the root cause of hemorrhoids like Venapro does. Another disadvantage to creams is you have to keep using them to get the relief. Once you stop using the cream, the hemorrhoid treatment stops, as well as the relief. There is also the problem of applying the cream. You need a private place, not always easy when you aren’t at home.  A quick hemorrhoid treatment for bleeding hemorrhoids is to use a Witch Hazel pad. It will keep the anal area clean, provide hemorrhoid relief, and treat the hemorrhoids all at the same time. Witch Hazel is a great remedy. You do not want to use toilet paper as it will irritate them and make the condition worse. You should use a wet wipe first – unscented and no alcohol. Then apply the pad.
A good way to treat hemorrhoids and clean the anal area is quick sitz bath. Fill your tub with a few inches of warm water and soak your anal area for about 15-20 minutes. Do this 3 times a day and after a bowel movement. If you follow this up with a 15-20 minute ice pack, even better. The combination of the warm/cold will strengthen the veins. This will help reduce and prevent hemorrhoids.
  • Painless bleeding during bowel movements — you might notice small amounts of bright red blood on your toilet tissue or in the toilet
  • Itching or irritation in your anal region
  • Pain or discomfort
  • Swelling around your anus
  • A lump near your anus, which may be sensitive or painful (always consult a doctor when you notice a lump. It could be a rare cancer.)
